DatingHalo

Terms of service

Last updated October 14, 2026

These terms are an agreement between you and Lurinth, Inc. ("we", "us"), the maker of DatingHalo. By creating an account or using the app, you agree to them and to our privacy policy. If you don't agree, don't use DatingHalo.

DatingHalo is not an emergency service. If you're in danger, call 911 or your local emergency number first.

1. Who can use DatingHalo

You must be at least 13 to use DatingHalo. If you're under 18 (or under the age of majority where you live), you need your parent or guardian's permission, and they agree to these terms for you. You're responsible for your account and for keeping your password private. Give accurate information, including your real birthday, and keep it up to date.

Teens (13 to 17)

Your birthday decides whether your account is a teen or adult account, and nobody else can see it.

DatingHalo isn't for children under 13. If we learn that an account belongs to someone under 13, we'll delete it.

2. Safety features have limits

Date mode, live location, "come get me", the home-safe check-in and the fake call depend on your phone, its battery, network and location settings, notification permissions, our servers, and whether your friends see and act on what you send. Any of these can fail or be delayed. These features are a way to keep your friends in the loop; they do not replace emergency services, and nobody at DatingHalo monitors your dates.

3. Registry checks

4. Information about other people

Your roster can hold information about people you're dating. You're responsible for what you add. Only add information you obtained lawfully and have a right to use, keep it to what helps you date safely, and don't post private information about someone (such as their address, phone number or photos) to your circle in a way that would humiliate or endanger them. A date-or-dump link shows his photo (blurred unless you turn blur off), and his first name and age if you allow it, to anyone who has the link until you turn it off. Only share a link, or turn blur off, if that wouldn't humiliate or endanger him; we'll take a page down if he asks.

5. Rules for using DatingHalo

You agree not to:

We have no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users. You can report any post, comment, vote, circle, message or person from inside the app (and any vote or join link from its web page), and block anyone, which ends the friendship, hides you from each other and removes them from circles you own. We review reports promptly, normally within 24 hours, and may remove the content, restrict or close the account, and report illegal activity to the authorities. Links and phone numbers can't be posted in comments, captions, answers or circle names.

6. Your content

You keep ownership of what you post. You give us a limited license to store, display and process it only to run DatingHalo for you and the friends you share it with. If you turn on a date-or-dump link, you also allow us to show that share card, your first name and your question to anyone who opens the link, alongside DatingHalo branding, until you turn the link off or delete your account. This license ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies kept in backups for a short period or where the law requires us to keep them.

7. Our app

DatingHalo, its design and its software belong to us. We give you a personal, non-transferable right to use the app as these terms allow. We may change, pause or stop features, and we'll try to give notice of major changes.

8. Ending your account

You can delete your account any time in Settings → Account → Delete account. We may suspend or close your account if you break these terms or if we have to by law. Sections 3, 4, 9, 10, 11 and 12 continue to apply after your account ends.

9. Disclaimers

DatingHalo is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement. We don't guarantee that the app, its safety features or registry results will be accurate, uninterrupted, timely or error-free, or that anyone you meet is safe.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Lurinth, Inc. and its officers, employees and partners won't be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss arising from your dates, your interactions with other people, a feature failing or being delayed, or a registry result. Our total liability for any claim relating to DatingHalo is limited to US$100. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not fully apply to you.

11. Indemnity

You agree to cover our reasonable costs, including legal fees, if a claim is brought against us because of content you added, your misuse of the app or registry results, or your breaking these terms.

12. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Before filing any claim, please email us so we can try to resolve it informally. Disputes will be heard in the state or federal courts located in Delaware, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring the claim in your local courts.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If a change is meaningful, we'll let you know in the app or by email before it takes effect. If you keep using DatingHalo after that, you accept the new terms.

14. App stores

If you downloaded DatingHalo from the Apple App Store or Google Play, these terms are between you and us, not Apple or Google, and those stores' own terms also apply. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.
